*Movie Star Feels*

Hi Ladies!

I just came from a trip from South Korea and I brought home so many stories to tell. This story that I’m about to share with you is one that would make any make-up fan or movie star wannabe giggle. So here it goes…

South Korea has been dubbed as the “Cosmetics Capital” in Asia and so it is but apt to check out and get some beauty products when you visit the country. I, together with a friend, was lucky enough to not just try out some of their beauty products but also to be made up by one of South Korea’s famous make-up artist, Mr. Seung Won Kim

From the time we walked down the streets of Gangnam, I already felt that Mr. Kim was famous. Two girls walked across our path and took a second look at him. We entered a make-up store, Aritaum, where he tried different shades of foundation on us.When he picked-up an empty container, you can tell that he got a bit disappointed. The saleslady couldn’t help but get rattled by the look in his eyes. (Uh-Oh! XD) After choosing a foundation, we went to another make-up store and tried on shades of lipstick this time. I and my friend couldn’t help but document the moment for it was like a “Wish Ko Lang” moment for us (hihihi) but this Korean saleslady told us to stop taking photos...and so we did…But,after they recognized Mr. Kim, they couldn’t help but get their camera phones to have a photo-op with him…(Oh! I thought taking pictures was not allowed in this establishment?! ROFL XD)

I did a little research on Mr. Kim and I found out that he is the first Asian makeup artist to the stars at the Cannes International Film Festival. To add up to his credentials, he is also one of Christian Dior’s Make-Up Maestros. (Like what I kept on telling him while he was doing my make-up, “It is but an honor to be made up by you. I feel like a movie star right now.” ;)) But what impressed me the most about him was how he managed to take a 180 degree shift in his career. From being a military man, agriculturist to a man who pursued his passion in arts & make-up. (Want to know more about him? To tell you honestly, I’m really not that into make-up but I do apply them occasionally. I’ve managed to learn hair & make-up techniques from the magazines that I get to read when I’m in salons and short videos on YouTube. And, taking it from family & friends’ reactions, I can say I’m doing a pretty good job in preparing my look for events. ;)

From the website I’ve shared above, I found out that Mr. Kim has been known for teaching “Self-Make-Up” and has in fact published a book on it. (Will definitely try to find a copy...) But for now, let me share this short clip of Mr. Kim giving us a tip on how to apply foundation:

Mr. Kim will be launching his own cosmetic line this year.(Can't wait!) I’m sure it will be hot in the market for it came from a man who has passion for beauty and make-up.(Best of luck,Mr. Kim!:)

Meet the master make-up artist and the upcoming star of Koreanovelas…(Just Kidding!LOL XD)

Oh, did I tell you that we got to take home the IOPE air cushion and Espoir lipstick he tried on us?! (*Giggles* Thank you very much, Mr. Kim! And...YES!"you made our day a lot brighter" ;) ) I loved the shades he chose for me...I bet he can tell that I like my make-up natural looking as possible.<3

How about you? How do you like your make-up done?Feel free to comment;)

Kamsamhida! ;)
